Additive Manufacturing for Architecture
The Gulf has spent two decades building structures that conventional fabrication struggles to deliver. Additive manufacturing closes part of that gap: geometry that would require custom molds, bespoke tooling, or extensive hand finishing can be produced directly, at whatever quantity the design actually calls for.
3DTIV supplies architectural practices, facade specialists, and fabricators across the UAE and GCC with metal and polymer additive systems suited to both prototyping and production of architectural components.
Why Architects and Fabricators Use Additive Manufacturing
-
Complex, non-repeating forms cost the same to print as simple ones. For designs where every element differs, additive manufacturing removes the economic penalty that traditional fabrication applies to variation.
-
Nodes joining members at irregular angles can be produced as single optimized components rather than welded assemblies.
-
Detailed scale models produced directly from the design model, with feature detail down to fractions of a millimeter.
-
Replacement of decorative elements where original molds and craftsmen are long gone.
-
Physical study models in hours rather than weeks, allowing far more iterations within a design programme.
Recommended Systems for Architectural Work
Architectural work spans a wide size range, and the right platform depends on whether the output is a model or a finished building component.
For presentation and study models, polymer systems offer the best cost per part. The 403P series combines 15.2 m/s scan speeds with eight-zone thermal control for accuracy across large models, while the Flight HT601P-4 provides a 600×600×600mm build volume for large-format models or high-volume batches of smaller elements.
For metal architectural components, the FS350M offers a 433×358×400mm build cylinder with multi-laser configuration, and the FS721M extends to 720×420×420mm for larger structural elements. Larger components can be produced as sections and joined during installation.
Materials for Architectural Applications
Farsoon's metal portfolio includes stainless steels and aluminium alloys — both well established in architectural applications for corrosion resistance and finish quality, which matter in Gulf coastal and high-humidity conditions. Polymer options through Farsoon's open platform cover PA12, PA11, and TPU for models, mock-ups, and non-structural elements.
Because Farsoon systems are open platform, fabricators can develop parameters around specific finish requirements rather than accepting a manufacturer's default surface outcome.

3DTIV operates as part of Modest Company, which has served industrial and construction markets across the UAE and GCC since 1975. That background in regional construction supply means we understand the delivery pressures architectural projects run under, not just the printing technology.
As the exclusive Farsoon partner in the GCC, we provide local machine service, materials supply, and training. Our Dubai demonstration centre allows practices and fabricators to test their own geometry before committing.
